Young-Hee Sweet is an American Korean artist specializing in Metalcraft and natural lacquer painting, based in Hawai‘i. She holds a Ph.D. in Metalcraft Design, and her work explores the intersections of nature, time, and space through traditional Korean techniques, such as Jjoum Ipsa (inlay) and ottchil (lacquer). In addition to the metalwork, she creates paintings using natural lacquer, layering color and texture to express organic rhythms and transformation.

Having lived in Germany, Italy, and now Hawai‘i, her multicultural experience deeply informs her artistic vision. Her work has been exhibited internationally and recognized with multiple awards, including honors in both the United States and South Korea.
